EDRM 2008-2009

The 4th EDRM Kick-Off Meeting will be held in St. Paul, MN on May 8 and 9, 2008!

PLEASE RSVP no later than March 28, 2008.  Membership in EDRM is required.

At this meeting, we will:

  • Celebrate the conclusion of the EDRM Evergreen, Code of Conduct, Metrics 2, and XML 2 projects;
  • Pursue a modest goal during the afternoon of the first day:  to shape the future of electronic discovery; and
  • Launch four projects for the coming year, all continuations of last year’s projects - EDRM Evergreen 2; and EDRM Code of Conduct 2; EDRM Metrics 3; EDRM XML 3.

Reception and Dinner

We cordially invite all current and incoming EDRM participants to join us at a celebratory reception and dinner on Thursday, May 8 to mark the conclusion of the EDRM 2007-2008 Projects. The reception will be at 6:00 pm and the dinner at 7:30 pm - location to be determined.

The New EDRM Projects

  • EDRM Evergreen 2:
    • Continue development of the Reference Model and ensure that the Electronic Discovery Reference Model remains current and relevant;
    • Enhance the content at each node of the model: Information Management, Identification, etc.; and
    • Tighten  connections  between Evergreen and the other projects.
  • EDRM Code of Conduct 2:
    • Continue development of ethical guidelines for providers and consumers of electronic discovery services; and
    • Tighter connections between Code of Conduct and the other projects.
  • EDRM Metrics 3:
    • Continue the EDRM Metrics Evergreen process;
    • Develop tracking and reporting protocols;
    • Promote the adoption and use of EDRM Metrics measuring tools to track electronic discovery activity;
    • Promote the analysis of data collected; and
    • Tighten connections between Metrics and the other projects.
  • EDRM XML 3:
    • Continue development of the EDRM XML schema version 1.0;
    • Development of the EDRM XML schema for project and audit data;
    • Develop protocols for redacting files maintained in their native type; and
    • Tighten connections between XML and the other projects

  • Focus:  EDRM project updates; Public Relations Committee and Advisory Committee introductions and reports; “Shaping the Future of Electronic Discovery” sessions, Kick-off meetings for the 4 EDRM projects

Friday, May 9:

  • Time:  8:30 am - 3:00 pm
  • Focus:  Organizational meetings for the 4 EDRM  projects

Participation Fee and Deadline

To participate in the EDRM projects, organizations or individuals must pay an annual (May to May) fee. The fee to participate is based on (a) the type and size of organization and (b) number of projects in which the organization chooses to participate.  Details at http://edrm.net/pricing.php
