Weekly Letter to our Global Community: 22 Mar 22

EDRM Above the fold letter to our EDRM global community 22 Mar 22

Dear EDRM community,

The word for the week is change

Hearings for Supreme Court nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson begin as Justice Clarence Thomas is hospitalized.  The two Arctic poles are exhibiting extreme warmer temperatures even as snow lingers in the Midwest and Texas and Florida battle wildfires in the spring.  Japan suffered another earthquake near Fukushima, barely making the headlines.  The Russia-Ukraine battle continues on the ground, in the air and on the net, with an open source contributor adding malware triggered by the country of the user’s domain to paint a peace message on a screen.

In legal tech this week, Meta has thrown down the gauntlet, announcing they will subpoena up to 286 firms in their antitrust defense, having already subpoenaed 90, according to Axios.

The ongoing saga of TransPerfect continues with senior management taking out ads urging the judge to recuse.

Epiq purchased the venerable Fireman & Company and EDRM Trusted Partners Ricoh USA and Venio Systems named new leadership.

Our “Run-Up to Legalweek” had great webinar presentations from our EDRM Trusted Partners to give you a taste of their offerings in case you missed them. The offerings from Onna, Exterro, Cellebrite and Merlin Search Technologies are freely available on demand.

EDRM projects are open to new contributors again, please reach out to info@edrm.net to let us know your interest, and we will introduce you to the appropriate Project Trustee.  You can check out EDRM’s project listings here.

Our Syndicated EDRM Global Podcast Network is available via iTunes, Spotify, Google Play and your favorite podcast app, so you can listen at your leisure.  Kaylee and Mary have our own podcast, the Illumination Zone, joining TAR Talk podcast and Ryan Short’s eDiscovery After Hours.  Reach out to info@edrm.net to suggest guests, including your own fabulous self.

We continue to Zoom gather for an hour to give and get general support in our one hundred and sixth week each Tuesday.  These sessions are point in time for us as humans and are not recorded.

Email us at info@edrm.net to be included on the group invitation for our interactive general support. Remember, you are not alone, and you are welcome at our events, or to reach out for help.  If you are having a mental health emergency, please consider these resources for professional help.

We welcome your participation in our projects, webinars, support gatherings, and our EDRM Hub, our job board/event/directory website.  There is no charge for these EDRM offerings, thanks to our very generous partners.

The one thing we can depend upon: Change,
Mary & Kaylee
