Dear EDRM community,
The word for this week is human. Our human need to gather is being tested by a rapidly spreading variant as mitigation efforts are reduced. Wars are inherently inhumane, with death and destruction likely outcomes. In the last century, “Never Again” became the rallying cry to eliminate genocide and protect civilians, schools, hospitals and more. The institutions set up to prevent a recurrence are struggling to meet the moment.
And in the midst of all of it, we celebrate a groundbreaking human, The Honorable Ketanji Brown Jackson, being confirmed to the Supreme Court.
In legal tech this week, we look at facial recognition technology (banned in some jurisdictions) being used to identify victims, and perpetrators in Ukraine and Anonymous reportedly doxed the Russian Army serving in Ukraine. Looking toward authenticity and persuasiveness, AI generated images are deemed more trustworthy than actual people’s images according to a new study.
And in the midst of all of it, we celebrate a groundbreaking human, The Hon. Ketanji Brown Jackson, being confirmed to the Supreme Court.
