Lurking Undercurrents: eDiscovery Business Confidence Survey Results: Summer 2022

Lurrking Undercurrents: Complex Discovery's Summer 2022 Business Confiidence Survey results

The data is in and Rob Robinson of ComplexDiscovery shared his twenty-seventh survey results for the Summer 2022 eDiscovery Business Confidence Survey. EDRM thanks our community for taking valuable time to participate and offer an assessment of business conditions from the perspective of our respective eDiscovery businesses. EDRM also thanks Rob Robinson for his stewardship of this benchmark that can help us understand our unprecedented times.

Aggregated and analyzed over time by Doug Austin of eDiscovery Today, the data indicates that the hot candidate’s market is cooling a bit with “Budget Constraints” overtaking “Lack of Personnel” in this period. The exuberance of Spring 2022 is tempered a bit, with the revenue and profit trajectory leveling out. That said, only 4% of respondents considered business conditions to be “bad,” a survey low.

From our perspective, business is still being done at a fulsome clip into our cyclical low season. Optimism is still the dominant sentiment, and the tempering may be an aberration. Still, carpe diem, make hay while the sun shines, and button up offers and opportunities as second quarter actual results are tallied.
