Sheila Grela: Legal Technology Trends

Sheila Grela: The wonderful world of legal technology: NALA

EDRM Global Advisory Council leader and paralegal at Buchalter, Sheila Grela, published an analysis of legal technology trends at law firms in 2022’s third quarter installment of “FACTS & FINDINGS”, for NALA, the National Association of Legal Assistants called “The Wonderful World of Legal Technology.”

Sheila Grela found that budgets increased for legal technology from 57% in 2018 to 65% in 2021, noting the increase in hardware needed to work from home due to the pandemic. She also found in reviewing the MyCase, Legal Industry Report 2021: Lessons Learned from the Pandemic that “46% of the firms have invested in remote working software during the COVID pandemic.”

Doug Austin, editor and founder of eDiscovery Today reminds us that:

Along with Joy Murao of Practice Aligned Resources, Sheila spearheads SDPA’s Virtual Lunch with Leaders (VLL), which has an excellent weekly program of legal tech education every Friday at noon PT (upcoming events are available here). Speakers at VLL have been a veritable “who’s who” of legal tech experts and thought leaders, covering a wide range of interesting topics. It’s a great way to make a Friday afternoon more productive, by learning about legal tech and the trends and best practices associated with it.
