Dear EDRM community,

The word of the week is impact.

Taylor Swift fans have a class action against TicketmasterChina has loosened COVID restrictions and Iran has reportedly abolished the morality police following unprecedented social unrest.   The 11th Circuit, on appeal, rejected the Special Master requested by FPOTUS Trump, and he called for the termination of the Constitution.  

The EDRM Special Master and Discovery Mediation Project, led by Trustee Jay Yelton, released the final version after public comment: Using Special Masters and eDiscovery Mediators to Resolve eDiscovery Disputes: A Bench Book for Judges and Attorneys 2022 Edition

In legal tech this week, EDRM fully enjoyed our community holiday, E-Discovery Day on December 1, with webinars, celebrations and Kahoot!  Supported by a webinar with Dr. Maura Grossman, the Hon. Kristin Mix and the Hon. Andrew Peck (ret.), the EDRM Special Master and Discovery Mediation Project, led by Trustee Jay Yelton, released the final version after public comment: Using Special Masters and eDiscovery Mediators to Resolve eDiscovery Disputes: A Bench Book for Judges and Attorneys 2022 Edition. EDRM collaborated with eDiscovery Today’s Doug Austin to produce the year end, Top 7 eDiscovery Cases of 2022 with Tom O’Connor, the Hon. Andrew Peck (ret.) and “Doug and Mary.”  The day concluded with a Kahoot! contest hosted by the irrepressible “Sir” David Greetham right after  Sheila Grela was honored with the 2022 Gayle O’Connor GO Spirit Award.  

Rob Robinson of ComplexDiscovery broke new ground with his Winter 2023 Document Reviewer Preferences Survey, finding an astounding 80% of over 500 respondents uninterested in onsite review and would need a significant boost in hourly rate to do so. Isha Marathe of Legaltech news covered 4 Ways Musk’s Twitter Takeover Will Impact Legal Professionals and the predictions party got started by2023 Predictions for Legal Tech: Everlaw’s Chuck Kellner .  IPRO offered How General Counsel can thrive during an economic downturn | A 2023 Playbook   Jason Tashea and Georgetown have launched an exciting, necessary judicial innovation fellowship program.
