Dear EDRM Community,
The word of the week is fired up. 🔥
Football fans learned more about automated external defibrillators in a New Year’s miracle for Damar Hamlin and the Buffalo Bills. As fighting continued, the sweet sound of Christmas carols echoed in Ukraine. Brazil repelled and arrested hundreds of pro-Bolsonaro protesters who stormed the seat of government this week.
In legal tech this week, layoffs continued in line with the greater economy, with the market shifting to employers, many of whom are upping their “return to office” requirements. Ephemeral messaging standout, Telegram, introduced the capability to blur sensitive data at origin. Craig Ball released a tour de force of a richly annotated ESI protocol primer. Alex Jones’ Connecticut attorney was suspended for not safeguarding client data. In addition to increased regulatory scrutiny, social media platforms are being sued by the Seattle school district in a novel case addressing mental health. And the Hon. Paul Grimm (ret.) took the reins from Director Emeritus, the Hon. David Levi (ret.) at the Bolch Judicial Institute of Duke Law School. Ralph Losey has quite the partnership with ChatGPT. Dr. Maura R. Grossman waxes poetic on ChatGPT.
