Dear EDRM Community,
The word of the week is momentous.
190 countries agreed to protect marine biodiversity in international waters. The studies on generative AI are popping, on algorithmic black swans and productivity. Om Malik writes on our ChatGPT moment. Microsoft doubles down on ChatGPT by releasing more developer tools across its portfolio and a Brad Smith appearance on the TV news show 60 Minutes to bat away any sense that they will pause due to hallucinations (AI incorrect information) or appearing as a emotionally disturbed entity.
In legal tech this week, EDRM Trusted Partner, Cellebrite, has a software update to unlock phones according to a recently filed search warrant application. Ralph Losey and his ChatGPT sidekick penned an Homage to Richard Braman and The Sedona Conference® along with rewriting the Sedona Principles at elementary grade level and in rhyme on his e-Discovery Team blog. In addition to appearances discussing ChatGPT, Dr. Maura R. Grossman was interviewed on gender bias in STEM. Stephanie Wilkins dives deep into Casetext’s generative AI offering, boldly named Co-Counsel. EDRM Trusted Partner, Merlin Search Technologies, introduced its cloud utility pricing program for eDiscovery hosting.
