Dear EDRM Community,
The word of the week is unprecedented.
Tornados tore through towns and neighborhoods killing almost 30 in the Southeast and Midwest US. For the first time, a former US President will be indicted this week. Elon Musk, Steve Wozniak and others signed an open letter advocating a pause in generative AI development past GPT 4 as the DAIR Institute begs to differ. Jason Furlong proposes legal intermediaries with a large language model to increase access to justice. Nondisparagement clauses are retroactively voided.
In legal tech this week, ChatGPT will upend the tasks in legal departments, Italy has banned ChatGPT over privacy concerns. Goldman Sachs report estimates that almost half the tasks in legal can be done with ChatGPT. EDRM will feature two webinars, one this week “Flash Webinar- Navigating the Risks of Generative AI: An Expert Panel Discussion” and the other on April 12th is a How-To step by step to help you or your colleagues get started to experiment with ChatGPT.
