Dearest EDRM community,

The word of the week is encore.

Ukraine has reportedly retaken at least three villages as the dam collapse puts a key nuclear energy facility in danger of overheating.  The former president of the United States was indicted again.  The cast of New York New York kicked off the Tony AwardsFour children survived a plane crash in a Columbian jungleand were rescued after 40 days and 40 nights.  Marc Andreesson penned a manifesto for AI as he announced his venture capital firm expanding to the UK.  3500 Subreddit moderators went dark yesterday in a strike to protest API fees for third party readers.

In legal tech these last two weeks, ZoomCat Lawyer was displaced by ChatGPT in the brief lawyer. Chris Dale has returned to the conference circuit by way of Relativity Fest London.  Paul Grewal preempted the SEC action against Coinbase by framing rules he believes will support crypto and consumers.   Algorithm Watch asked about the Digital Services Act (DSA), “Who will audit the auditors [of AI].  EDRM Trusted Partner, Onna, is the first non-google eDiscovery solution in the Google Cloud Marketplace. Legaltech News’ Rhys Dipshan covered law firm data scientists and passion projects. Nextpoint Law Group launched.

AI Ethics and Bias will be releasing the final version of their whitepaper on Professional Responsibility Considerations in AI and eDiscovery: Competence, Confidentiality, Privacy and Ownership this week, and the Text Message Metadata Primer team will release Version 1.0 for public comment.  The DupeID and Special Masters and eDiscovery Mediation team continue their market acceptance activities.  The State Rules team reports that several more states will be published in their efforts to have a comprehensive, living resource covering the rules and practice regarding ESI in all 50 states.  The Priv Log team met eye to eye in Detroit, and have a few more Public Comments to resolve before finalizing.
