Weekly Letter to Our Global Community – 26 Jul 22

EDRM Letter to our global community 26 July 2022

Dear EDRM Community,

The word of the week is understanding.

Pope Francis, in Canada this week, asked forgiveness from indigenous people for the abuses of residential schools.  Monkey pox is not only an STD, and is found in wastewater, as COVID impacts hospital access again.  A robot playing chess against a 7 year old grabbed and broke the child’s finger during a competition. And to keep us cool, an explainer from Craig Ball diving deep into air conditioning operation and maintenance.

In legal tech this week, the US Secret Service gets the Kim Zetter treatment on the deleted January 6-7 text messages.  Alzheimer’s research takes a step back due to alleged fabricated images.  Chinese regulators hit Didi with a $1.2 Billion fine due to data handling.  Ralph Losey is out with Part 2 of his exploration of Early Neutral Evaluation.

And EDRM is very grateful to Zapproved, our wonderful partner, for renewing and inviting us to sponsor PREX, live and in person, at its ten year anniversary gathering.  EDRM22 at checkout will score a 50% discount.

EDRM projects are open to new contributors, please reach out to info@edrm.net to let us know your interest, and we will introduce you to the appropriate Project Trustee.  You can check out EDRM’s project listings here.

Our Syndicated EDRM Global Podcast Network is available via iTunes, Spotify, Google Play and your favorite podcast app, so you can listen at your leisure.  Kaylee and Mary have our own podcast, the Illumination Zone, joining TAR Talk and Ryan Short’s eDiscovery After Hours podcasts.  Reach out to info@edrm.net to suggest guests, including your own fabulous self.

Every Tuesday at 6PM Eastern, community members gather via Zoom to offer or request support as we navigate our work and personal challenges.  Email us at info@edrm.net to be included on the group invitation for the 124th support call. Remember, you are not alone, and you are welcome at our events, or to reach out for help.  If you are having a mental health emergency, please consider these resources for professional help.

We welcome your participation in our projects, webinars, support gatherings, and our EDRM Hub, our job board/event/directory website.  There is no charge for these EDRM offerings, thanks to our very generous partners.

Listening intently,

Mary & Kaylee
