The word of the week is mobilize.

Ripping a page out of a science fiction novel, NASA will crash a space ship into an asteroid to change its orbit as part of a planetary defense experiment.  As communities from Puerto Rico to Newfoundland activate to restore living places and power, the entire state of Florida is preparing for landfall of Hurricane Ian.  The Russian mobilization of men to fight against Ukraine is causing traffic jams at the border as Ukraine continues its successful push east.  Women in Iran are leading demonstrations, burning hijabs as their sisters organize for the right to wear hijabs in other countries.

Politico and the New York Times inspected the metadata in Special Master the Hon. Raymond Dearie’s appointment of Judge Orenstein, a leader the “Magistrate’s Revolt” to assist in the Mar-a-Lago assignment.

In legal tech this week, Reynen Court is seeking public venture capital before a more traditional capital raise.  Arizona’s sandbox has its first private equity backed plaintiffs’ firm.  Witnesses can give evidence in criminal trials from outside the UK via WhatsApp when it is ‘in the interests of justice’, the Court of Appeal said this week.  Slack and Teams are the latest platforms to have their security challenged.  Politico and the New York Times inspected the metadata in Special Master the Hon. Rob Robinson reported results for the ComplexDiscovery Fall 2022 eDiscovery Business Confidence Survey.
