A cryptocurrency investor was arrested for kidnapping and torturing a man for his Bitcoin password. Transgender attorneys are organizing. The FBI investigated deepfakes of Susie Wiles, White House chief of staff. Security organizations have warned of deepfake sentinels being used to probe defenses. The ABA will no longer vet judicial nominees. A government report was redone to eliminate AI-generated hallucinations. Dario Amodie, CEO of Anthropic, predicted a massive shift toward unemployment of white-collar professionals. Jensen Huang, CEO of Nvidia, predicted that those losses would be people without a facility with AI, and Ralph Losey argued that good lawyers will be augmented, not replaced, by AI. An international flotilla of humanitarian aid set sail for Gaza, and firebombs injured participants in a demonstration in the US supporting Israeli hostages. Karol Nawrocki won the Polish presidency. Unemployment rates for college graduates flipped this year, with computer science’s rate higher than art history’s. Wildfire smoke has already wafted to the Midwest US this season. A Swiss village was buried by a glacier. More than 700 souls were lost during Nigeria’s intense storms and flooding. Covid vaccine recommendations have changed.
