Global Legal Tech Developments: Judge Artigliere wrote on ethics and decision-making for humans and AI. Ralph Losey tested the Panel of Experts for Everyone about Anything using an article that explores the new jobs that AI will create. AI is coming, not just for individual jobs, but also the entire org chart. Private equity continued to invest in legal tech. Microsoft is likely to sign the EU’s AI Code of Practice; Meta will not. ADP reported a reluctance to hire or replace, resulting in the loss of over 50,000 roles in professional and business services. More than a handful of attorneys and paralegals at Microsoft were among those who lost their employment.

International eDiscovery Trends: EDRM Trusted Partner Redgrave wrote about the discoverability of AI prompts and artifacts. Mike Berman wrote about vacating protective orders that allow discovery material to be used in other cases and preservation lapses of video evidence. ComplexDiscovery OÜ explains the impact of the Genius Act on financial regulation, disclosure, and governance. The Epstein materials released by the administration catalog 40 computers and electronic devices, 26 storage drives, more than 70 CDs, and six recording devices, along with physical evidence. World Events Impacting Legal Tech: Ukraine and Russia continue to damage each other, with drones as a weapon of choice. Ukraine’s cyber attack on Gazprom damaged critical energy infrastructure. Removal of Palestinians from Gaza to third countries is under discussion. The Democratic Republic of Congo and the rebels fighting against it have signed a ceasefire deal in Qatar. A human won a coding contest against AI after 10 hours.
