ChatGPT prompts were indexed and made public in Google search. An LLM was able to recreate the Equifax data breach without human guidance or assistance. Thank you to the newly returned ad refreshed Doug Austin of our EDRM Trusted Partner eDiscovery Today for his Kitchen Sink coverage of EDRM award-winning author Michael Berman on a special master appointed in an EEOC matter, Rob Robinson on an escalation in cyber warfare, a new Aaron Patton/Gates Dogfish meme, and the Hon. Judge Ralph Artigliere (ret.) on the AI era’s judicial Qualcomm-like clarion call for competence. The case, Johnson v. Dunn, is covered here.
- International eDiscovery Trends: Hoover Hull’s Helen Geib looked at parallels between eDiscovery and home improvement projects. Tesla lost its autopilot trial in part due to vehicle forensic electronic evidence. Google Cloud’s Amin Vahdat explained the changes in hardware and interconnect needed in the AI era. There is still a chance to include your input in ComplexDiscovery OÜ’s semi-annual pricing survey. EDRM encourages our community to respond as we incorporate AI into our products, services, and practices. ComplexDiscovery also released its second half of 2025 update of Andrew Haslam’s eDisclosure Buyer’s Guide. The Guide now boasts 164 supplier listings and 67 software entries and includes the latest Pricing, Market Size Mashup, and Business Confidence Surveys.
- World Events Impacting Legal Tech: The US is seeking to get more food into Gaza. Canada, France, and the UK advocated for a Palestinian state. Ukraine uncovered corruption in drone procurement. Iran’s leadership warned of an imminent water crisis. New York, New Jersey, and the East Coast of the US experienced flood stage weather. An 8.8 earthquake originating off the coast of Russia prompted coastal communities across the ocean to seek higher ground. South Korea began to remove its loudspeakers blasting propaganda and K-pop on the North Korean border. The US Corporation for Public Broadcasting will wind down operations after losing federal funding. The Grand Canyon fire has become a megafire, burning over 100,000 acres.
