In legal tech last week, the Middle East and those who care for it breathed easier as hostages were released and a framework for lasting peace was established. Relativians gathered in Chicago to celebrate breakthroughs and share knowledge.

Global Legal Tech Developments: The International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) released a tracker for the impacts of the U.S. government shutdown. The Supreme Court of Queensland released AI Guidelines. Back from the Tallinn Digital Summit 2025, ComplexDiscovery OÜ’s* Rob Robinson wrote on learning from collective failures, particularly in design decisions, and Cyberocracy and the Efficiency Paradox: Why Democratic Design is the Smartest AI Strategy for Government. California softened rules about working with law firms from other states, allowing investment from private equity. Legal developments regarding National Guard deployments in U.S. cities continued.
International eDiscovery Trends: Sheila Grela wrote on Impact Discovery, tech that actually moves the needle. At their annual conference, Relativity Fest, Relativity* announced their highly coveted Innovation Awards.
