Weekly Letter to Our Global EDRM Community - 27 June 2023

Dearest EDRM community,

The word of the week is titanic.

The world waited, and mourned the loss of the adventurers when the submersible Titan seeking the wreck did not return. Ukraine continues its Spring Offensive.  The US reopened conversations with China amidst tensions. Judge sanctions lawyers for brief written by A.I. with fake citations.

EDRM is proud to support ComplexDiscovery’s eDiscovery Business Confidence Survey as we have through many years. In our turbulent times, it is helpful to have a consistent touchpoint to discern trends, directional changes and learn what is top of mind.

In legal tech this week, Legal IT Insider hosts Carol Lynn Grow, COO of LawToolBox who reported on Microsoft Build and Microsoft Copilot’s plans for legal (among other things, they’ve embedded Practical Law from Thomson Reuters.). Congratulations to Casetext for a decade of transformational leadership (Bob Ambrogi) and their acquisition by Thomson (TechCrunch). Rob Robinson of ComplexDiscovery looks at the transaction this way. Rhys Dipshan of Legaltech News reports the entire Casetext team will make the journey.
