Dearest EDRM community,

The word of the week is alignment.

A judge was shot and killed by the party denied custody due to his domestic violence record. Iran Mobilizes Proxies as Conflict Between Israel and Palestinian Militants Threatens to Expand (October 10-16, 2023). Turkey’s President ok’d Sweden’sNATO bid.  Chevron will acquire Hess.  The US House of Representatives has no Speaker, and no legislation will move until they have one, and the government will potentially shut down November 17, 2023.

EDRM announces new GDPR guidelines for public comment.  China proposes new rules for data transfers.  ABA TECHSHOW’s Startup Alley is now allowing companies who have exhibited before.  ComplexDiscovery covers Vendor VoicesPaladin Partners with the Department of Justice to expand its pro bono technology to all DOJ attorneys.

EDRM Announced Level Legal as its newest Trusted Partner.

The DupeID project, led by Trustee Beth Patterson, announced that four major platforms have implemented the EDRM MIH for cross-platform email duplicate identification.  Reveal, Relativity, edt and Nuix support the EDRM MIH in their respective platforms with Law In Order writing the app for Relativity support.

The Priv Log project, led by Trustee Cristin Traylor, considered the public comments submitted and published its final paper.

EDRM Project Leaders Khrys McKinney (AI Ethics/Bias), Cristin Traylor (Priv Logs), Jay Yelton (Special Masters and Discovery Mediators), Monica Harris and Matt Rasmussen (Short Message Metadata Primer 1.0) and Dave Cohen (GDPR) updated the community on progress on the EDRM Global Webinar channel.  It’s available on demand if you missed it.

EDRM updated its Generative AI and Large Language Model policy to address the need for disclosure and fact checking. Read all the policies here.
