- Global Legal Tech Developments: China and the US are driving forward with military AI enabled robots. IBM has open sourced some LLM development. The US government requires certain Pixel users to apply a security upgrade by July 4 or to stop using the device. Meta makes its AI chatbot available to all in India. The US sanctioned Kaspersky, the security company and its executives, and not its co-founder, Eugene Kaspersky. Starlink debuted portable satellite internet for $599.
- International eDiscovery Trends: International crimes, digital evidence and deepfakes. ComplexDiscovery wrote on the current state of deepfakes. AI companies are apparently bypassing Robots.txt and scraping websites. Brian Inkster supports the Alternative Business Structure initiative in Scotland. Doug Austin filled his Kitchen Sink with Michael Berman, Dr. Maura Grossman, Rob Robinson, Gates Dogfish and more.
- World Events Impacting Legal Tech: World Events Impacting Legal Tech: The UK’s richest family convicted in Switzerland of abusing staff. Blackouts hit the Balkans due to heat wave. Flood warnings and excessive heat hit most of the US. A fire at a lithium battery plant in South Korea killed at least 16. Israel’s focus may be shifting to Lebanon. Russia held the US responsible for a missile strike in Crimea with civilian casualties and gunmen attacked churches and a synagogue in Russia.
