Dearest EDRM Community,

The word of the week is dominant

Nepal lost 125+ souls during an earthquake. Israel has encircled Gaza City. Ukraine may be at a stalemate with Russia. 29 Countries reach agreement on the risks and opportunities of AI per Hunton. Seyfarth’s Rachel V. See on the US Federal Government’s AI Risk Management Standards.  Adobe is addressing deep fakes by creating “Trust Credentials” with granular controls to expose the identity of the creator, location of image, and even edits.  The NYT goes behind the scenes in the new Beatles’ song featuring AI. A provocative study asserts ChatGPT-4 generates better results when prompted with emotional context.

ComplexDiscovery has released its winter eDiscovery Pricing survey, the first since anecdotal reports of Private Equity encouraged price hikes.

EDRM News

The DupeID project, led by Trustee Beth Patterson, announced that four major platforms have implemented the EDRM MIH for cross-platform email duplicate identification.  Reveal, Relativity, edt and Nuix support the EDRM MIH in their respective platforms with Law In Order writing the app for Relativity support.

The Priv Log project, led by Trustee Cristin Traylor, considered the public comments submitted and published its final paper.

EDRM Project Leaders Khrys McKinney (AI Ethics/Bias), Cristin Traylor (Priv Logs), Jay Yelton (Special Masters and Discovery Mediators), Monica Harris and Matt Rasmussen (Short Message Metadata Primer 1.0) and Dave Cohen (GDPR) updated the community on progress on the EDRM Global Webinar channel.  It’s available on demand if you missed it.

EDRM updated its Generative AI and Large Language Model policy to address the need for disclosure and fact checking. Read all the policies here.
