Europe launches gait recognition program at border crossings that does not require the subject’s cooperation. Crypto is up again, as is nuclear energy for emerging AI needs. A record number of Artemis Accords signatories were gathered at the International Astronautical Congress (IAC) to discuss the safe and responsible use of space for the benefit of all. Complex Discovery released its 2025 Listing of Events.
- International eDiscovery Trends: EDRM’s Trusted Partner, the Mind Budget Connection, released its initial report seeking to improve mental health on the job for the eDiscovery community. EDRM has syndicated Ralph Losey of LoseyAI’s innovative podcast, Echoes of AI, fully curated and vetted by him and fully performed by the most human-sounding AIs we’ve heard with the first episode on research regarding using an AI chatbot to combat loneliness. The Chair of EDRM’s Global Advisory Counsel and Trusted Partner Sidley Austin LLP’s Robert Keeling moved a major portion of its e-discovery and data analytics team to the law firm Redgrave. David Greetham, who joined forces with EDRM Trusted Partner, Level Legal, won the “Legal Innovator of the Year” at the 2024 Texas Legal Awards. - World Events Impacting Legal Tech: Israel killed the leader of Hamas, opening an opportunity to end the war even as a drone hit Netanyahu’s home. Tensions are rising between North and South Korea along the border as North Korea reportedly increased its troops for Russia’s Ukraine invasion to over 10,000. The US destroyed some underground bunkers of weapons in Yemen. Cuba’s entire power grid failed as the next hurricane (Oscar) hit it. France, Italy, and New Mexico join Georgia, North Carolina, and Florida in recovering from extreme flooding. IV fluids are in very short supply. Amazon invites those who do not want to return to the office to quit. More auroras are on the way.
