Legalweek brings together thousands of legal professionals from around the globe each year, all of them eager to discuss and learn about new trends in the field. At Legalweek 2025, the conference was buzzing with one central topic: AI. From its impact on judges, to in-house counsel, governance, ethics and eDiscovery, it was the focus of more than half of the sessions at the event.

AI’s role – according to presenters and vendors – isn’t to replace professionals, but to make their lives and workflow easier, saving time on routine tasks and money on resources.

AI’s role – according to presenters and vendors – isn’t to replace professionals, but to make their lives and workflow easier, saving time on routine tasks and money on resources. The role of AI is also shifting, particularly when it comes to Generative AI, while some are still wary of the technology, it’s now viewed as necessary to a case – albeit if it’s validated by a human.

Taking the Next Step

You might say the legal world is at a crossroads, as AI is becoming more ingrained in many firms’ everyday workflows. The question now is how does the industry as a whole respond? This year’s keynote address, given by Hollywood actor and producer, Rob Lowe, addressed the issue head-on, as the actor talked of his experience of setbacks and how he’s reinvented his career several times. “The rules change,” he said to a standing-room only crowd. “And you’ve got to adapt.”

Many legal firms are doing their best to follow that advice, with AI implemented into their workstreams. Early adopters paved the way – helping to highlight the challenges that come with it. Those yet to adopt the technology will work through a more structured approach to ensure AI’s integration is ethical and effective.

AI isn’t only about growing pains, it is opening doors to a new way of doing business. From changing the way legal services can be billed due to fewer hours spent on routine tasks, to widening the pool of potential customers, AI can give firms more options.

Overheard on the Trade Show Floor

AI was also top of mind outside of the sessions. Vendors showed off how they’re integrating the technology into their solutions for easier and faster decision-making, faster workflows and basic functionality.

The chatter in many of the sessions, the hallways and on the trade show floor also centered around mobile data. From the ever-growing amount of data to its complexity, and the need for fast, secure collection and review – Cellebrite’s ongoing partnership with Relativity garnered plenty of attention from conference attendees.

Cellebrite Enterprise Solutions Presence on the Trade Show Floor

With so many legal professionals gathered in one place at one time, this event was a great opportunity for Cellebrite Enterprise Solutions to connect with customers and meet new faces.

Our team had the chance to show our solutions like Endpoint Inspector (EI) in action and give attendees a first-hand look at how it is making a major difference in accelerating time to resolution. We showcased how this remote collection solution for mobile, computer and cloud can perform targeted, filtered collections and displays the collected data in one unified dashboard to make the process as smooth and simple as possible. Not all data on a custodian’s device is relevant to the investigation, and the targeted, filtered collections provide a way to obtain only data that is necessary.

A sentiment that we heard over and over again was how mobile devices play a huge role in eDiscovery. In fact 97% of eDiscovery cases involve this type of data. We fielded a lot of questions about Endpoint Inspector’s remote collection technology as well as the Endpoint Inspector integration with RelativityOne. The market-leading partnership between Cellebrite and Relativity addresses the need for a simplified, easy-to-use mobile data collect and review solution due to the growing presence of mobile data in investigations. Mobile data has always been viewed as a time consuming, complex process – the integration of Cellebrite and Relativity works to make that data type as easy to collect as others.

While Cellebrite Enterprise Solutions is known for its mobile capabilities, meeting with folks face-to-face allowed our team to showcase our computer capabilities as well.
